Those who need a process for taking out gunk, old paint and layers of dirt often want more than the regular things used for cleaning. The bits are called sponges because they look like little sponges, but actually have more heavy duty qualities. The smaller these are though the softer the wave that is produced or put on any surface. The power or force behind the cleaning method is actually provided by pressure, which is produced by a machine.

This can be steam, which also provides its own forward momentum. The thrust or power behind the stream is produced by hot gases which are directed out through a small outlet to make the power directed and more energetic. The other methods used may be there because of specific need, but steam is the primary item in industry.

There will be loads of force through high pressure hosing effects too. When there is no need for steam, the pressure alone can push through or penetrate the oldest layers of dirt and debris. Paints are not that hard to take off especially when it no longer has its adhesive qualities and the surface has started to peel.

Steam is especially needed for those things that tend to melt at high temperatures. The temperature though immediately goes down as soon as steam comes out of hoses, which reduces its capacity to corrode or damage other parts of a place or machines. Remember that the gunk is often found on surfaces of still usable or working machines and locations.
